New Year Resolutions
Choosing the right New Years’ Resolutions is imperative to the success of your company in 2008. Spending time discussing these and deciding on your top Resolutions could give your company the edge it needs.

Resolution ideas to help you and business:

Review your company’s spending
List your fixed assets and capital expenditure for the coming year. Decide what you need to pay out in terms of new equipment needed either to expand or update old equipment. Look into whether it would be more economical to lease or buy outright and what type of finance you may need for this. You can lease almost anything, from equipment valued at a few thousand pounds to assets worth millions.

Learn something new
Improve your business skills either by going on a course, attending a conference or simply reading a book/looking on the internet. Learning something new can open your business up to new clients or maybe improve the efficiency of your product.

Find cheaper insurance
January 1st is a common insurance renewal date. Premiums have increased a lot over the last couple of years for some kinds of business insurance, so obtaining the best deal is essential. It is also a good idea to check that you have the right amount of coverage, particularly if your business is expanding.

Review your banking facilities
Many small businesses opt for the bank that they use for their personal finances. There are many deals available from a wide range of sources. Try and find an account that suits your business needs whether that includes a low interest rate for overdrafts or a low rate for depositing cheques and cash.

You should review your banking arrangements every year, looking for the best deals to help maximize your company’s profits.
