Go do a search for businesses for sale and you come across business for sales .com which lists over 50,000 businesses for sale across the globe. 15,000 are in the UK with 237 businesses for sale in Berkshire.
When I review Wordtracker to see what people are actually looking for when it comes to businesses for sale, the top key phrase is businesses for sale with a factor of over 600. In 5th place is businesses for sale in Torquay with 1/10th of those searching the generic term. What is fascinating to read is that businesses for sale in Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Torremolinos are 2nd, 3rd and 4th with over 100 each! Are we getting tired of being told bad news all the time by the media and are thinking, sod it, I’m going to buy myself a nice place in the sun and set up a little business to maintain a steady income flow and leave Britain? With the banks struggling to lend businesses the money they need to gain the momentum, scared that the limited resource will simply be wasted for minimal net gain, is it time to cash in what you can and head for the sun? I was talking to an estate agent just the other day and he reckoned the 1% gain which has been talked about on various TV shows is not the real picture, house prices have dropped around 20% in Windsor. The fact that there are very few, if any, first time buyer purchases means that the formula used is showing +1%, instead of the truer 20% drop. When you look out of your window and the rain is coming down and all day cloud cover gives us that twilight feeling, it ensures that we are all up beat and looking forward to the next day... NOT! Just think, due to global warming, in about 3 weeks, at the start of February the sun will be coming out to play, the air will warm and before we know it we’ll be in t-shirts and asking for the temperature to be turned down! We can but dream!! But if you are off prospecting for property in Andalucia, Spain then you’ll need somewhere to stay while you’re looking around. So go and stay at Doug’s place in the sun. His holiday rental in Andalucia. Chin up, the sun will be with us shortly... |
